When I purchased the boat there were a few issues with the bottom of the boat. There were four unused through holes, and two standpipes on the starboard side that I had no use for, and a few holes in the bottom of the keel from some groundings, as well as a variety of nicks and dings from years of neglect. Using a 1inch chisel I scraped the bottom paint from the boat down to the original gel coat. after scraping the entire boat I sanded the bottom with 36 grit sandpaper to smooth it out and
bring out some of the nicks and dings. Using epoxy and fiberglass 1708 mat I patched the two large holes on the keel. As well as filled in many many low spots and dings. I also glassed shut the unused through holes on the bottom of the boat. When this was all completed I applied three coats of epoxy barrier coat in alternating colors to to ensure proper coverage. Then I rolled on three layers of bottom paint again alternating the colors between blue and black to ensure proper coverage.
